Karen Rose

Though clearly influenced by the surrealist masters, I prefer to call my style of painting Cerebralism.  In an age where the only uncharted frontiers lie within our minds, I attempt to reach the viewer on a cerebral level by creating a space where one's spiritual self is free to roam and explore.  I enjoy challenging the viewer’s perception by manipulating the rules of perspective and shadow, reminding the viewer that life is many-layered and it is important to enjoy the beauty in and around us.

Though widely known for my acrylic skyscape paintings, I have recently begun experimenting with new media and have amassed a body of work in this field.  Whether pushing paint or pushing pixels, I attempt to bring serenity into the hectic lives of others, to draw the weary viewer in for a relaxing interlude and the opportunity to let the mind take you where you think you want to be.
