Phyllis C. Annunziato

    Since 1976 Phyllis has been making, jewelry. In 1984 she began teaching the “art of  jewelry” and showing work in juried exhibits, winning many awards.  1, 2 and 3 women shows in both New York and Florida have been well received.  Her work has been exhibited in several Museums.
   President of Women In the Visual arts from 2000-20012, Co-President from 2007-2008 and President from April 2011-April 2013. WITVA is a South Florida organization dedicated to promoting the Visual Arts for artists and the community Phyllis is also an active member of the Florida Society of Goldsmiths (FSG) Inspired by her surroundings she uses “found objects” and recycled materials.  It is interesting to see how many wonderful ideas come from looking “out of the box”. Jewelry is small example of the ability to transform things that can become “waste” into artistic and fun art. It gives one a feeling of joy to know what we can do if we just give it some thought.    Experimenting with glass and metal sculpture since 2002 this work has   been juried into several shows. Mrs. Annunziato’s studies include the Huntington Art League, Craft Students League, Kulicke & Stark Academy and Workshops in New York.  In Florida the Armory Art Center, Boca Raton Museum Art School, Workshops thru the Florida Society of Goldsmiths and the Atlantic Center for the Arts. The study of fusing, casting and slumping glass at the McMow Glass Art Studio in Lake Worth, Florida. She also experiments on her own.
   Phyllis has lectured about the “History of Jewelry” on cruise lines and for local organizations, including the Delray Library, and has taught Jewelry workshops for adults and children at many venues including the Armory Art Center and Sugar Sand Park.  She is now teaching a class “METAL JEWELRY WITHOUT HEAT “ at the WITVA  ART CENTER on  Thursdays from 1-4 PM.
The Aquarian Age Gallery, Boca Raton; Fifth Avenue Gallery, Melbourne, Florida; Gallery 5, Tequesta, Florida and the WITVA Galleries in Delray Beach and Boca Raton have all shown and sold her work.
