Spring Celebration of High School Art - 2011

Our annual “Spring Celebration of High School Art” exhibition is held at Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton, FL. All Palm Beach County high schools are invited to participate. Art teachers choose the best work of their students and WITVA’s jurying committee selects the “best of the best”. The program receives donations from our members and from Friends of the Arts: money, gift certificates and supplies from area businesses and scholarships from foundations. Our special Lynn Travis Stender Fund Contributed $11,000.00 this year.  The Grand Prize is $600.00. Since 1997 we have awarded over $225,800.00. This year our guest speaker was Michael Mullaugh, of the Boca Raton City Council.

The program gives students and teachers the opportunity to showcase the wonderful artwork and talent of Palm Beach County art students. Their work is on view for a month at Sugar Sand Park Community Center and sends an important message to the community about the importance of art in the public schools.
At the end of the exhibit WITVA and Sugar Sand Park join together to host a Reception and Awards Presentation. This afternoon usually attracts an audience of over 200 people and there is always a prominent member of the community present to speak about the gift of art in our lives.

If you are interested in donating an award, please contact WITVA at 561-997-6148 or send your donation to:
